1 December 2009 – World AIDS Day — HIV and Homeopathy
As per data from the AIDS Epidemic Update there are more people living with HIV than ever before as people are living longer due to the beneficial effects of antiretroviral therapy and population growth. However the number of AIDS-related deaths has declined by over 10% over the past five years as more people gained to access to the life saving treatment. UNAIDS and WHO estimate that since the availability of effective treatment in 1996, some 2.9 million lives have been saved.
I feel these encouraging results will keep the momentum to make this earth HIV free.

Dengue fever – prevention, treatment and homeopathic medicines
Yesterday, 45 fresh cases of dengue were reported in Delhi, India. The number of dengue patients in the national capital shot up to 661. There are 11 cases in which the infection has been contracted from outside the city. The capital has seen two dengue deaths so far.
This indicates a lack of preventive measures by the civic agencies, and now peoples are challaned as mosquito breeding was detected on their premises!

Expert Systems in Homeopathic Softwares
System is an organization of functionally interactive units for the achievement of a common goal. All systems have inputs, outputs, and feedback, and maintain a basic level of equilibrium. For example, in the human body the heart functions to support the circulatory system, which is vital to the survival of the entire body.
And, an expert is someone widely recognized as a reliable source of technique or skill whose faculty for judging or deciding rightly, justly, or wisely is accorded authority and status by their peers or the public in a specific well-distinguished domain.

Influenzinum – a homeopathic medicine
As I mentioned in my analysis about H1N1 influenza and homeopathy, there was some SMS about influenzinum for swine flu or Influenza A H1N1 flu widely circulated in India last week. It created a sort of panic in public, and everyone started procuring it from homeopathic pharmacies. patients and friends started calling me to have more information on it. After my analysis, I had some reservations to recommend this in present scenario of H1N1.

H1N1 Flu and Homeopathy – Analysis
What is H1N1 flu ?
H1N1 virus is a new type of Influenza virus affecting pigs, humans and maybe some other animals. Humans do not yet have herd immunity to it as they do to other types of flu viruses.
As we (people on this earth) have not developed the immunity against H1N1, it is spreading like wildfire and at a rate faster than any other virus epidemic.

Spurious drugs under homeopathic label
In US, many people lost their sense of smell using Zicam nasal spray, a cold remedy they thought would be safer than other medicines because it was sold as homeopathic (!!).
Zicam’s homeopathic label allowed it to be marketed for a decade without a review for safety or effectiveness by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Homeopathic products — over-the-counter remedies that use plant, mineral or animal derivatives — don’t need marketing clearance from the FDA under U.S. rules.
